Full-Time, Exempt Description:
This position coordinates the design and implementation of the agency's special events including Art Soup, Kindest Kansas Citian, Quiz For A Cause and Stand Up For Synergy fundraisers. This position has responsibility of managing a revenue and expense budget, meeting fundraising expectations, event logistics and other resource generating activities as assigned. This position also works closely with Synergy's Resiliency Board. Assists on other agency events as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
includes but are not limited to the following. Manages the design and implementation of the agency's special events including Art Soup, Kindest Kansas Citian, Quiz For A Cause and Stand Up For Synergy fundraisers. Has overall responsibility for specified Special Events, including achieving or exceeding the projected budgeted amount. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting a working committee, working closely with event committee chair and the agency's development committee, establishing timelines, tasks and budget. Designs, implements, secures and tracks corporate underwriting and sponsorships, securing in-kind donations. Responsible for all day-of activities, including run-of-show, event setup, script, forms, packets, notebooks, table place cards, and vendor agreements and activities. For all assigned events, coordinate with the VP of Development and Marketing, and collaborate with Marketing Manager on establishing event theme, website content, event marketing schedule, printing, mailing, event program, invitation, presentations, video production. Collaborate with Development & Data Coordinator on Donor Database needs and tracking. This position has overall responsibility to ensure proper fiscal responsibility in handling cash donations, auction/raffle donations day/night of assigned events to ensure protocols are in place to get monies to Synergy's Finance Department. Coordinate the donor stewardship plan for all post-event attendees & communications. For all assigned events, maintains accurate records, and evaluates each aspect of the respective fundraisers from year to year. This position also participates in the recruitment and leadership of Synergy's Resiliency Board. Manages their annual calendar, meeting agendas, event planning, and volunteer hours. Attends luncheons, tours, meetings and special events as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
The employee in this position must have a valid Drivers license.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee must have the ability to use computer software, including WP6.0, Windows, and Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
