Job Description

HL Catering Company — Raleigh, NC About HL Catering HL Catering is a full-service event and catering company based in Raleigh, serving weddings, corporate events, and private parties across the Triangle and beyond. We've been at this since 2013, we run 20+ events a week in peak season, and we hire for kindness first. We're growing fast and looking for a leader who takes pride in flawless execution.
The Role:
Our sales team sells the event. You produce it. The Event Producer is the on-site leader who takes an event from signed contract to final guest departure. Once a sale closes, you own the execution — planning the front-of-house details, building the team, and running the event day-of as the face of HL Catering. You're the person the client sees making it all happen. This is the perfect role for a restaurant manager, or a banquet manager from a country club or hotel, who loves the energy of live events and wants to own the show from start to finish.
What You'll Do:
Pre-Event (Planning & Handoff) Take the handoff from sales: review proposals, floor plans, timelines, and client expectations for each assigned event Walk venues, confirm logistics, and identify problems before they happen Build event timelines, staffing plans, and front-of-house service plans Coordinate with the kitchen team on menu execution, service style, and timing Communicate with clients, planners, and venues in the final stretch before event day Event Day (Execution) Lead on-site setup: room layout, tablescapes, buffet/station design, bar setup Direct and manage front-of-house staff (servers, bartenders, captains) — often teams of 10-30+ Serve as the on-site point of contact for the client, planner, and venue Run the timeline: cocktail hour, dinner service, toasts, transitions — keep it all on track Solve problems in real time with calm and grace (because something always comes up) Oversee breakdown, load-out, and leaving the venue better than we found it Post-Event Lead the post-event recap: what went right, what we fix, what the client said Report staffing hours, incidents, and feedback to the office team Help us get better every single week Who You Are 3+ years in restaurant management, banquet management, or catering operations — country club or hotel banquet experience strongly preferred A natural leader who can direct a large part-time staff with clarity and respect Calm under pressure — weddings are emotional, timelines slip, and you're the steady hand
Detail-obsessed:
you notice the crooked napkin and the missing fork A strong communicator with clients, vendors, and team members alike Comfortable with evenings, weekends, and a schedule built around events (that's the business) Physically able to be on your feet 8-12 hours and lift 40+ lbs Valid driver's license; ServSafe certification a plus (or willing to get it) Why HL Catering Growing company with real opportunity to build your role as we scale A team culture built on kindness, hustle, and doing things the right way You'll never be bored — every week brings new venues, new menus, new challenges
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
Benefits:
Health insurance Paid time off
Work Location:
In person
