Monitor all contractual agreements pertaining to guest room blocks, meeting space, food and beverage and special concessions. Effectively communicate to all hotel departments the information necessary to successfully execute the group's needs while maintaining a good client relationship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver successful experience for the planner and attendees with the goal of garnering both repeat and referral business. Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to all internal partners and external customers and deliver clear and concise communiqué that is representative of the Westin Raleigh-Durham Airport via all avenues of communication. Effectively and efficiently monitor and manage all aspects of the pre-event, event, and post-event details: Work with groups of all sizes both to detail catering and room blocks. Tracks detail and communicate the particulars of each assigned event and group - including but not limited to - room blocks, meeting space, special concessions, group history and other reports, cut-off and other key dates, contract clauses, group resumes, event orders and BEO's, billing details, and other integral aspects of groups and events. Gain knowledge of hotel's food and beverage products, pricing and presentation, and learn about the hotel. Assist in selling guest rooms and banquet facilities as directed. Produce and distribute group coversheets two weeks prior to first day of main group arrival and communicate any changes and updated information to hotel departments. Accurately forecast group rooms and group food and beverage revenues for assigned groups Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED College or higher-level education Minimum 2 years sales experience in the hospitality industry Must have strong basic mathematical skills that allow for calculation of room blocks, average rates and forecast information. Must be willing and able to sign CMC's non-disclosure and non-compete agreements. DESIRED Hospitality experience. Two years full service hotel sales experience. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, accounting programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and CI/TY. Excellent-personal and sales-related skills.
