Job Description

The Role:
The Airline Service Development (ASD) Department works in partnership with Harry Reid International Airport and LVCVA's Air Service Consultancy of Record to retain and expand airline service to Las Vegas. The Manager of Air Service Development implements strategic initiatives involving airlines, hotel and mission partners, vendors, as well as internal LVCVA customers. This position executes strategic tasks in support of ASD Team goals to recruit and retain strategic air service to Las Vegas.
What You'll Do:
Keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive. Develop professional relationships with airline partners through effective communications, in-market airline meetings, participation in aviation conferences, destination-based airline summits, and customer development and appreciation events. Coordinate the execution of marketing strategies and tactics that support new airline service and capacity growth with existing carriers by working closely with the LVCVA's marketing and public relations teams, LVCVA's aviation consultant of record and Harry Reid International Airport. Retain current knowledge of key contacts, industry trends, ASD carrier dynamics, competitive set, economic and product developments, etc. that may affect the decision to add service to Las Vegas. Collaborates with the LVCVA's assigned consumer advertising agency for joint marketing promotions (co-op) with airlines to launch new service. Communicate information vital to team members for developing programs around launch events, travel contests and ongoing support efforts. Engage with various LVCVA marketing team members and airlines to develop promotional plans that generate ticket sales and increase capacity. Assist in managing and organizing events and conferences as it relates to air service development. Executes logistics and creates itineraries for airline route decision makers to expand knowledge of the destination. Collaborate with conference planners when Las Vegas is the host city. Partners with conference planners to maximize brand exposure and product education at out of market events. Occasionally travel domestically or internationally to attend events related to the position. Prepare and process required administrative documents supporting activities related to the division's activities and performance. Develop department and team performance standards. Serve as subject matter expert (when necessary) for air service development facilitating communication between mission partners, sales and marketing staff and other stakeholders. Resolves problems and determines standards for problem resolution including escalations from clients and partners. Serve in the absence of the Director of Airline Service Development as the key point of contact in the division for meetings, special events and other departmental functions. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in marketing, airline service, or related field Proven industry experience preferably in the aviation industry, travel/tourism industry; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Strong sales skills and knowledge of the sales process; familiarity with marketing, public relations and event coordination tactics Experience with Microsoft Office software, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Ability to write and edit reports, budgets, business correspondence, sales collateral Ability to public speak and effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external customers Advanced ability to listen and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
