Full-Time Position Overview:
The Dayton Masonic Center is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Manager with strong sales experience to oversee and grow private room rentals within our historic facility. This role combines event coordination, client relations, and revenue generation, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both hospitality and sales environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of private room bookings, from initial inquiry through event execution and follow-up Actively promote and sell event spaces for weddings, corporate functions, social gatherings, and community events Conduct site tours and develop customized proposals based on client needs Coordinate event logistics including room setup, vendor access, and client requirements Serve as the primary point of contact for clients before, during, and after events Maintain an event calendar and ensure efficient scheduling of multiple spaces Collaborate with internal staff and external vendors to ensure smooth event operations Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business and referrals Assist in developing marketing strategies to increase bookings and visibility
Qualifications:
Proven experience in event management, hospitality, or venue coordination Strong sales background with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask Comfortable working evenings and weekends as required by event schedules Proficiency in event management software and standard office tools Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a historic venue or multi-use event space Established network of local vendors and event professionals
Work Schedule:
This position requires flexibility, including frequent nights and weekends, based on event bookings.
