Job Description

Wedding Coordinator Description:
Abernethy Center is Portland's premier full-service wedding and event venue. With two stunning gardens, an elegant ballroom, and the classic Abernethy Chapel we offer beautiful and distinct settings for your special occasion. Since our inception in 2001, we have dedicated ourselves to mastering the art of hospitality. We combine award-winning catering with exceptional customer service to create extraordinary memories for you and your guests. We are currently searching for an experienced Wedding & Event Coordinator who wants to join our team and gain valuable experience in providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities include:
Staying up to date with client emails, phone calls, and meetings Managing and directing banquet staff on the day of events Coordinate and communicate with vendors throughout the planning process Providing the setup and cleanup of wedding client decorations Remains calm and collected in stressful circumstances, simultaneously adhering to building policy, and feels empowered to make executive decisions surrounding the venue while coordinating an event Ensure the day-of is according to plan and the couple and family get to enjoy and celebrate
Coordination Requirements:
Excellent customer service and people skills One-year event planning experience preferred Excellent attendance and work ethic Positive attitude and desire to be a team player Ability to communicate professionally and effectively Excellent attention to detail Desire to work in an office environment
Qualifications:
Highschool diploma One year of customer service experience required One year of event experience required WIX and Canva design experience preferred
