CYAC Event Staff (Weekend Position) - Carlisle Family YMCA Aquatics Center Looking for a fun, flexible weekend job? Join the team at the Carlisle Family YMCA Aquatics Center (CYAC) as an Event Staff member! This position is perfect for energetic individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and being part of exciting swim meets, regional sporting events, and community activities. Shifts are available throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays, typically between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, offering plenty of opportunities to fit work around your schedule. Event Staff earn $12.00 per hour and receive a

No two shifts are exactly the same—you may be welcoming guests at admissions, assisting with parking and traffic flow, supporting event safety operations, helping athletes and spectators, coordinating volunteers, or assisting with event setup and breakdown. POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The CYAC Event Staff position at the Carlisle Family YMCA supports the successful operation of aquatic competitions, community events, rentals, and special activities at the Carlisle Family YMCA Aquatics Center (CYAC). Staff in this role assist with admissions, parking management, volunteer coordination, hospitality, safety support, event setup and teardown, runner duties, housekeeping, and participant/customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Monitors and directs flow of vehicles, coordinates parking lot logistics to maintain safety and organization. 2. Manages event admissions, ticketing, and check-in processing at facility and event entry points, ensuring all members, participants, and guests do not bypass security checks. 3. Oversees and monitors participant behavior and environmental safety across diverse activity spaces, including indoor multi-purpose rooms, outdoor spaces, grounds, and pool/aquatics spectating areas. 4. Serves as a key member of the event safety team, patrolling zones, reporting incidents, responding to hazards, and initiating/completing comprehensive incident reports as required. 5. Coordinates, directs, and supports event volunteers, ensuring they are positioned effectively and understand their tasks within the building or on facility grounds. 6. Manages hospitality operations, including greeting guests, providing directional assistance, supporting vendor layouts, and ensuring an excellent experience for all attendees. 7. Performs runner duties to maintain continuous communication and logistical support, quickly delivering supplies, equipment, messages, or water to staff and volunteers across different sectors. 8. Maintains general facility appearance and cleanliness by performing light housekeeping and clean-up duties throughout the shifts. 9. Assists with event infrastructure logistics, including manual set-up, teardown, and monitoring of tables, chairs, tents, barricades, and signage. 10. Models elite relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains clear, concise, and collaborative communication regarding rules and behavioral expectations with members, guests, and participants.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
