Job description: Children's Event and Party Coordinator at Abington Kids
IMAGINATION STATION
is seeking a dynamic, creative, and passionate Children's Event and Party Coordinator to lead the development, execution, and management of all community-focused activities, including kid events, open play sessions, birthday parties, and school field trips. This role is central to fulfilling our mission of providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where children can learn through imaginative play. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development and Management Design and Implement a diverse and exciting calendar of community events, workshops, and themed activities tailored for children aged 1-6 and their families. Oversee the daily scheduling and operation of all Open Play and Community sessions, ensuring a high-quality, safe, and engaging experience for all attendees. Coordinate and Manage all aspects of the Birthday Party program, including booking, staffing, vendor relations, setup, and cleanup, striving to exceed customer expectations. Develop and maintain clear policies, procedures, and safety protocols for all programming. Work closely with childcare directors, receiving guidance and direction to support program quality, safety and maintain daily operations. Staff Leadership and Training Recruit, train, and manage a team of full and/or part-time staff and volunteers responsible for program execution, event hosting, and direct interaction with children and families. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship to ensure a positive, high-energy, and professional team culture. Schedule personnel efficiently to cover all programmed activities, open play, and party bookings. Ensuring all personnel including volunteers have appropriate clearances to work with children. Marketing and Outreach Collaborate and market to promote programs and events effectively through social media, email newsletters, and local outreach. Build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, community organizations, and potential partners to expand the reach and impact of our programming. Track and analyze participation rates, customer feedback, and program revenue to make data-driven decisions and continuous improvements. Budget and Operations Manage the annual programming budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and strong return on investment for all activities. Oversee the procurement and inventory of necessary supplies, decorations, and equipment for events and parties. Ensure all facilities used for programming are well-maintained, clean, and meet all safety standards.
Qualifications Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, event planning, or recreational programming, preferably within a children's museum, family entertainment center, or similar youth-focused organization.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation Management, Non-Profit Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
Exceptional leadership , organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Aptitude:
A genuine passion for children's development and imaginative play, with a high degree of energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
Availability:
Must have the flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekends and occasional evenings to oversee programs and events. Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
