Position Overview:
Give leadership, support and direction to the funding, development, campaigns, events, prospecting, and closing to provide council operating funds and endowments both long and short term within assigned areas of the Michigan Crossroads Council. Within this associate role, you'll learn the fundraising and volunteer model of Scouting with the plan to be accountable for a specific portfolio of events and donors within 1-2 year.
Responsibilities:
Works with supervisor to make the Michigan Crossroads Council structure function effectively.
Assist with special event fundraisers by providing logistical and operational support of staff and volunteers.
Donor Prospecting & Evaluating to generate cultivation leads through special event attendees and alumni.
Work with employer matching gift programs and current employee donors/volunteers to secure available funding.
Assist with the Market Development Board in your region to support financial growth, fiscal sustainability, networking opportunities, community partnerships and engagement and brand visibility.
Work as a team to help ensure the success of Michigan Crossroads Council through both professional and volunteer relationships.
On site event support for Special Event Portfolio and Donor Cultivation and Ask Events
Assists in budget development and responsible for portion of council operating funding of the west division of the Michigan Crossroads Council
Works within a long-range strategy to achieve the council's mission and to make consistent, timely progress.
Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Qualifications:
Be a commissioned Scouting professional or a non-commissioned career professional
Be a registered member of Scouting America
Successful experience in fundraising and/or event management
Clear understanding of the development process
Proven ability to cultivate staff and volunteers to achieve the Scouting mission
Fiscal management and budget development abilities
Be able to creatively problem solve and be flexible in dealing with daily management and operations.
Be goal and task oriented.
