Hybrid (Remote planning and virtual meetings with in-person participation during events and organizational initiatives)

Approximately 10-15 hours per week, with increased involvement during major events, planning cycles, and organizational initiatives.

POSITION OVERVIEW
BeYOUtiful is seeking a passionate, organized, and mission-driven Director of Programs & Events to join our Founding Leadership Team. This volunteer leadership role is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of the organization's programs, workshops, community initiatives, and signature events. The Director of Programs & Events serves as the operational leader of the Programs & Events Department, ensuring that every experience aligns with BeYOUtiful's mission while creating meaningful opportunities for women and girls to connect, grow, and thrive. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading projects, developing teams, building community experiences, and making a direct impact through nonprofit leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development & Strategy Develop and maintain an annual program and event calendar. Create innovative programs and experiences aligned with BeYOUtiful's mission and strategic goals. Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements. Help identify new opportunities to expand organizational impact. Assist in shaping the long-term vision and growth of BeYOUtiful's programs and events. Event Planning & Execution Lead planning and execution of workshops, networking events, wellness experiences, community initiatives, and signature events. Develop project timelines, event plans, and implementation strategies. Coordinate logistics including venues, supplies, speakers, vendors, volunteers, and event resources. Coordinate with vendors, venues, speakers, and service providers to support successful program delivery. Ensure events are delivered professionally and provide meaningful participant experiences. Leadership & Team Management Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Event Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. Delegate responsibilities appropriately to coordinators and volunteers. Conduct regular check-ins with direct reports to ensure projects remain on track. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven team culture. Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and developing volunteers within the Programs & Events Department. Ensure volunteers and coordinators have the resources, information, and support needed to succeed. Build and develop the Programs & Events Department by helping establish systems, processes, and best practices that support future organizational growth. Recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions and achievements. Collaboration & Communication Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to support event promotion and participant engagement. Collaborate with Community Outreach and Partnerships leadership to identify community needs and partnership opportunities. Collaborate with community partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to strengthen program offerings and event experiences. Attend and actively participate in weekly leadership team meetings. Participate in organizational planning and strategic discussions. Reporting & Accountability Maintain program and event documentation. Provide regular updates to the COO and Executive Director. Track participation, engagement, outcomes, successes, and opportunities for improvement. Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback from participants, volunteers, and stakeholders. Identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future programs and events. Help establish systems and processes that support long-term organizational growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Passion for women's empowerment, community development, and nonprofit service. Experience planning events, programs, workshops, community initiatives, or educational experiences. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to lead volunteers, manage teams, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Experience in nonprofit leadership, event planning, volunteer management, community engagement, hospitality, education, or related fields is preferred. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus.
