Game Store Events Manager Riftgate Games Provo, UT Job Details Part-time From $15 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Community engagement Attention to detail Staff training Facebook Marketing Full Job Description Event & Community Manager We're looking for someone to own and operate events across our game stores. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a consistent, high-quality event experience for our community, from weekly play to larger tournaments and special events. You'll be the connective tissue between our players, staff, and event systems, ensuring everything runs smoothly, is well-communicated, and continues to grow over time. Key Responsibilities Event Operations Own and manage all in-store events across both locations Ensure weekly play (e.g., MTG, Pokémon, Lorcana, etc.) runs smoothly and consistently Ensure every event has a clear owner and is properly staffed While you do not need to physically run every event, you should make an effort to attend larger ones and ensure they launch smoothly Planning & Scheduling Maintain and manage event calendars for both stores Stay up to date with publisher schedules (Wizards Play Network, Bandai, Ravensburger, etc.) Plan and schedule events well in advance (weekly play, prereleases, special events, tournaments) Schedule events on their respective event finder (e.g. Eventlink, Carde, etc.) Introduce new or unique events to keep the community engaged Game & Event Knowledge Be familiar with the core games we support and how events function Understand event structures, formats, and player expectations Ensure proper alignment between events and promotional materials (kits, promos, prize support) Staff Coordination Ensure judges or qualified staff are scheduled for relevant events Communicate event details clearly to the team (formats, timing, promos, expectations) Train or support staff running events as needed Community & Marketing Post event announcements in relevant community Discord groups Create and manage Facebook event listings Publish and maintain event listings on our website Help build excitement and engagement around events What We're Looking For Familiarity with trading card games and/or tabletop gaming communities Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple events across locations Reliable and proactive, takes ownership and follows through Strong communication skills (both with staff and community) Comfortable running live events and managing groups of players Experience as a player, judge, or tournament organizer is a strong plus What Success Looks Like Weekly events run consistently and smoothly Events are scheduled and announced well in advance Staff is informed and prepared Players know what's happening and show up Community engagement and event attendance grow over time People in our community recognize you as the go-to for events Perks Employee discount Flexible scheduling (within event needs) Opportunity to shape and grow a thriving game community Work with the best team for the best game store in Utah!
