This full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week, requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. This position is on-site at the Phoenix location with some remote work availble. Hourly pay is $20-$24/hour, commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities:
Newton Event Coordinator Coordinate all private and public events at the Phoenix location. Manage private Newton events in the Commons and Meeting Rooms. (Events include ceremonies, meetings, educational programming, luncheons, fundraisers, networking events.) Oversee space usage, client communication, rental payments, invoicing, quotes, and booking. Manage and/or assist with all 100 + private Newton events annually; coordinate with Events Manager, First Draft Manager, Store Manager, marketing, frontline booksellers, and bar staff. Maintain and update Newton website and social media.
Key Responsibilities:
Phoenix Event Lead Host many of the CHB author events, working alongside booksellers, bartenders, and other event hosts. (Events include author talks, panels, crafting and writing workshops, book clubs, etc.) Assist with large offsite author events. Co-create, execute, and host community workshops and recurring programs (book clubs, crafting events, community workshops, etc.). Manage onsite ticketing, logistics, frontline communications, crowd flow, safety, and guest experience for all Phoenix events. Coordinate pre- and post-event book inventory with the Event Manager Recruit, train, and manage event hosts and volunteers for events. Handle challenging customers and talent in a calm problem-solving manner to achieve positive outcomes for CHB, authors, and community. Crowd management with a focus on delivering a great attendee experience Required Skills & Qualifications 3+ years experience as a lead event coordinator / management or comparable experience Strong written and oral communication Comfortable with public speaking to small and large audience Superior organizational skills: calendar management, email, accounting, invoicing, and time-sensitive implementation Excellent people and project management skills Creative problem-solving, adaptability, energy, and enthusiasm Self-motivated with initiative and accountability Comfortable with AV/tech, social media, Canva/InDesign, Google Suite. Proven expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and community management Ability to lift 50 lbs Food handling certification Growth mindset Other duties as assigned.
