Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The BJU Press Employee Experience Specialist shares a passion for people and hospitality. In this role, you support a high-quality employee experience by organizing events and programs including new employee onboarding and orientation, employee celebrations, and service awards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support overarching people strategies by influencing and delivering key tactics including employee gifts, programs, and events. Plan and manage event logistics at the direction of the Director of Culture & Engagement Manage the internal BJU Press event calendar Create and communicate event schedules and plans and pertinent information to employees, managers, and key points of contact Participate in team settings and lead meetings that include members of the following internal functions: Culture & Engagement, Marketing Events, Public Relations, and Marketing Research & Analysis Liaise with department managers to deliver a high-quality new employee experience Lead the new employee orientation program Manage procurement and purchasing for employee gifts and giveaways Support employee recognition programs Support scheduling and equipment needs for training events Manage BJU Press charitable events Work within the financial budget as determined by the Director of Culture & Engagement Submit expense reports to the Director of Culture & Engagement Support the key Culture & Engagement business functions, as well as change management efforts
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Empathy and composure to understand and work with all kinds of people A can-do attitude Willingly accepts vision and directives from management with the ability to share input and feedback as appropriate Willingness to be flexible Collaboration skills with the ability to understand the diverse needs of a complex organization Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage schedules and pertinent event information impacting employees, managers, and key points of contact Able to trouble-shoot challenges with good sense and practicality Able to work with others in an open cubicle setting Able to simplify complexities to impact broad audiences Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with keen listening abilities A team player with the initiative to work independently when appropriate Skill in data management and analysis, a plus
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
: Bachelor's degree 2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, education, event coordination, or administration support Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with keen listening abilities Confident and professional in engaging with members of management Strong project and time management skills An applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group — Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press — must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
