JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE
Development and Events Manage
JOB OVERVIEW
The Development and Events Manager is responsible for developing sustainable revenue streams for Landmarks for Families and will work directly with and report to the Vice President of Development. The Development and Events Manager will be responsible for the planning of events, both fundraising and donor development, including the acquisition of sponsors and auction items for special events, managing volunteers needed to support events, and participating in other marketing and promotional opportunities that increase event visibility, generate community support, and support department and organization goals and objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
(other duties may apply) Lead event revenue solicitations, including sponsorships, annual campaigns, and other general donations. Identify prospective donors, develop donor profiles, and research new corporate and individual donors/sponsors. Maintain accurate records in Raisers Edge in coordination with finance. Ensure all donor interactions are accurately recorded. Create and distribute an annual impact report that effectively communicates organizational outcomes and donor impact. Plan and execute all fundraising events, including but not limited to the annual Gala and donor engagement events. Serve as the primary point of contact for event coordination, including media relations. Responsible for securing sponsorships, ticket and table sales, auction items, and other revenue-generating components. Develop and manage detailed timelines and all event logistics, including but not limited to venue, vendors, volunteers, guests/participants, and event materials. Responsible for adequate planning and timely execution to meet revenue and engagement goals.
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational, presentation, and writing skills, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Applicants should enjoy working on a team and independently as needed. Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision to meet organizational goals. Proven track record in strong relationship building. Cross-functional team communication and collaboration skills. Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
Education and Specific Training :
Experience in fundraising and event management within the non-profit sector. A bachelor's degree is preferred in communications, marketing, or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience. •Non-Profit experience is a plus•Work Environment This job operates in a professional-level office environment. The role involves regular interaction with employees at all levels, donors, the public (walk-ins), and vendors, and requires a high degree of professionalism, strong communication skills, and discretion. Special working conditions may include changes in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (e.g., outdoors or at other locations) when participating in and assisting with special events.
Hours/Days of Work :
This is a permanent full-time position, Monday through Friday. Weekend and evening work will be required around fundraising events and volunteer activities.
