Job Description

A Director of Event Management oversees the planning, coordination and execution of all events ensuring they deliver a seamless and impactful experience for all attendees. This is accomplished by working closely with the sales and food and beverage departments to execute contracts and bring the groups to life . The ideal candidate for this position Is a seasoned event manager looking to lead a team. The director is responsible for planning and leading the convention services team across the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs Hotel and Convention Center. The Director of Event Management will engage in active selling strategies to upsell local, group, and association business. The director will also oversee the daily management and employee relations of the Event Management Team. The role often requires time on-site at events, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on event schedules The position is dynamic, combining office-based planning with hands-on execution.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields
Experience:
Typically 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience in event planning, with a proven track record of organizing large-scale events with three to four years of hotel catering sales experience or employment in a related position or field. Leadership experience is required. Marriott Consolidate Inventory (CI) experience a plus!
Skills:
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; creativity and attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Event Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies, aligning with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations .
On-Site Management:
Direct all on-site logistics, including registration, session management, transportation, catering, and supervision of staff..
Risk Management:
Establish contingency plans and safety protocols to address potential issues such as weather, security, or health concerns
Performance Analysis:
