The Commune Austin, TX Job Overview:
The Event Attendant ensures events hosted at The Commune run smoothly by creating a clean, welcoming and well-organized environment for our clients and their guests. As a representative of The Commune, Event Attendants must be punctual and adaptable problem solvers. The Event Attendant is a part-time role that requires working evenings and/or weekends. Flexible availability is a major plus!
Key Responsibilities:
Punctuality:
Arrive on time to prepare the venue and warmly welcome hosts and guests, as well as ensure the timely wrap up and ending of an event.
Venue Preparation:
Ensure the space is clean, tidy, and ready for events, including adjusting lighting, temperature, and music volume for the ideal atmosphere.
Anticipate Needs:
Understand event details and proactively assist hosts by anticipating their needs and offering support.
Customer Service:
Provide warm, adaptable communication to guests of diverse cultures and preferences while maintaining a supportive, problem-solving attitude.
Event Maintenance:
Stock products, remove trash, and keep the space organized throughout the event.
Physical Tasks:
Move furniture, lift materials swiftly, and safely use a ladder for event setups and adjustments.
Cleaning Duties:
Perform post-event cleaning including: wiping surfaces, sweeping/mopping, loading the dishwasher, and resetting the space for future use. Occasional admin support, such as answering inbound calls and responding to inquires
Flexibility:
Open to working late shifts and attending periodic staff meetings
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and ability to keep the space tidy and inviting. Excellent communication skills and a professional, warm demeanor. Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and adapt as the sole point of contact. Physical ability to handle lifting loads up to 25lbs, moving furniture, and performing cleaning tasks. Prior hospitality or event experience is a plus but not required. Why Join The Commune?
