Bananarchy is Austin's only frozen banana stand! We serve up ethically-sourced frozen bananas with a variety of delicious dippings and toppings at our two food trailer locations. We also cater for businesses, weddings, student groups, and more! This is where you come in!
Description of role:
Do you think you have what it takes to be a frozen banana slinger? We are hiring part-time Catering Leads for our catering team! We especially need people with daytime weekday availability.
Your shifts will be as needed - meaning that we don't guarantee a certain number of hours per week, since the hours we have depend on the catering events we have booked. In return, we also don't require a large commitment from you - you can accept or decline each catering event as you are available. This position works best as a supplementary source of income for someone who wants to have flexibilty.
You should be a customer service virtuoso and have a strong sense of responsibility and ability to solve problems in the moment. Punctuality is essential. This job sometimes requires improvising and working under pressure, as each event is different and comes with different challenges.
You must have your own insured vehicle, unexpired driver's license, and good driving record, as well as a smart phone. You will need to provide your own uniform for catering: black pants, black preferably button-down shirt, closed-toed black shoes (and we will provide yellow suspenders and yellow bandanna with a plastic spoon accessory). You must have a food handler certification or be willing to obtain. Must value integrity in all aspects of life, and take pleasure from bringing other people joy!
Work schedule:
We cater a variety of days and times: it may be a daytime event on a weekday for an office, a wedding on Saturday evening, a student group event on a weekday evening, etc. As mentioned above, you can accept or reject each shift as it is offered to you. Shifts average about 4-6 hours long, though some can be longer.

You are in charge of going above and beyond to create a memorable and fun experience for the client and their guests. You will prep for the catering event, pack up supplies, drive to the venue arriving on time to set up, check in with your contact, set up the banana dipping table station and create beautiful works of art on a frozen banana for each guest. Happy times for all! Then break down and clean up in our commercial kitchen, maintaining a clean work environment.
