Retail and Event Manager

Manage operations at 2 food trucks and popups at events and markets •

•Welcome to Kessho! Kessho makes Asian inspired bean to bar chocolate and artisan gelatos. We have won a number of international awards with presence in 70+ specialty food retailers nationwide and 2 food trucks in Austin. Kessho is cofounded by Mark and Liang who have been running their bakery business for over 14 years in Asia. Kessho is our new venture in Austin since 2023. We are a young and energetic team passionate about creating high-quality craft chocolate, delightful pastries and ice creams that bring joy to people's lives. Our 2 dessert food trucks are located respectively at the heart of the Bouldin Creek neighborhood and Thicket Food Park, both in south Austin. We also have presence in many pop up demo events, markets and festivals both within Austin and in other major cities. Job Responsibilities:

Operation Management:

Oversee the daily operations of the food trucks, including food preparation, layout and hygiene standard execution, customer service, and sales transactions.

Team Leadership:

Hire, train, and manage a small team, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the day-to-day challenges of food service.

Quality Control:

Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Inventory Management:

Manage inventory levels and order supplies to ensure the food trucks are well-stocked and operational.

Customer Service:

Foster a positive dining experience by engaging with customers, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.

Financial Management:

Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing expenses. Ensure profitability and financial health of the food trailer.

Marketing & Promotion:

Collaborate on marketing strategies to promote the food trailers and pop-ups, increase brand awareness, and attract new customers.

Event and Popup Implementation:

Present brand and products at retailer demos, specialty food shows, pop up markets, corporate sales events etc. Requirements Outgoing personality and passion for sweets, business development and customer service activities. Proven experience in food service management, preferably in a fast-paced environment such as a food truck, food trailer, or quick-service restaurant. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints gracefully. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Basic financial management skills (budgeting, financial planning, etc.). Education High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality, business management, or related field is a plus.
