Campus Engagement Student Assistant (Work-Study) Academic Year 2026-2027 UIW Mission University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good. Position Summary Team Red Work-Study employees support the Office of Campus Engagement by providing customer service to students, faculty, and staff while assisting with the planning and execution of student events. They collaborate with the Campus Life Office and maintain an understanding of campus services and resources to effectively assist the campus community. Work-study employees report directly to the Coordinator of Campus Engagement. This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program. Essential Functions Provide front-facing customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors Assist with the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of campus events and programs Support office operations, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment Collaborate with the Campus Life Office to stay informed on campus resources and services Help track event attendance and engagement through designated platforms (e.g., Engage) Assist with marketing efforts, including distributing flyers and promoting events Maintain organization of office spaces, supplies, and event materials Represent the Office of Campus Engagement in a professional and positive manner Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as required for event setup and breakdown. Availability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends based on event needs. Familiarity with campus systems (e.g., Engage) is a plus. Organization skills to keep proper records of checked-out and checked-in equipment. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Required Education Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program. Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and remain in good academic standing throughout employment Required Work Experience Experience is not required, training is available. Preferred Qualifications None. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations None. Work Hours Monday through Friday 8 am- 5 pm. Evening and weekends when needed for special events.
