Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Venue Coordinator at The Lodge at Hanson Park, a public and private events venue located within the 257-acre Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park, in Aldie, Virginia. Opened in 2023, The Lodge is the county's first dedicated special events venue and features 3,500 square feet of event space complemented by the vaulted ceilings, elegant, exposed beams, and a stunning floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. The Assistant Venue Coordinator will support the daily operations of The Lodge by working collaboratively with the Venue Coordinator in overseeing venue operations, event planning, and ensuring flawless execution of client events. The ideal candidate must always display exceptional customer service and professionalism and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in daily interactions. Attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills are key to the position. We are currently hiring for the following location(s): The Lodge at Hanson Park, Aldie, VA Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Meet with prospective clients regarding venue needs for the event. Work directly with the Venue Coordinator to create and prepare event orders and schedule staff for the setup and breakdown of events. Contract with venue users by executing agreements, making and maintaining bookings, collecting fees, and ensuring the venue is ready for client events. Develop and manage marketing plans to promote The Lodge; create and update marketing materials; prepare social media advertising channels; and attend trade shows and similar events. Assist with the daily operations of The Lodge, including cleaning, ordering supplies, and small maintenance tasks. Ensure users follow all established county policies and procedures. May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment. This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may direct the work of temporary staff. The work schedule varies according to operational needs and may include weekdays, evenings, weekend hours, and possible holidays. High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in hospitality management, tourism, event management, marketing or a related field. At least two years of experience working in hospitality sales and service. At least 6 months of experience with iVvy venue management software, or similar software. Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to confirm ongoing qualification.
