Job Description

Job Description The Department of Computer Science (CS) is seeking an extremely detail-oriented, organized, and professional individual to serve as the Receptionist and Event Coordinator in the Office of the Department Head (DH). The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. This forward-facing position reports to the Executive Assistant/Office Manager of the DH office and serves as the first point of contact for the department, providing general administrative support to members of the DH office. Additionally, this position provides support for all levels of tracking, planning, and executing departmental events. Required Qualifications
  • Previous administrative support, customer service, or event planning experience in an academic or professional setting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and diplomatically with diverse constituencies in a professional manner
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software and/or Google Suite
  • Ability to work independently within a team-based environment
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple competing demands and deadlines and to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a strong team player with a willingness to assist as needed with other functions within the department.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent level of training and/or related work experience
  • Administrative support or event planning experience in a university setting
  • Proficiency with desktop publishing software (Canva, Adobe tools, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Hokiemart
  • Experience with university systems, policies, and procedures as they pertain to projects and events Pay Band 3
Overtime Status Non-Exempt:
Eligible for overtime Appointment Type Restricted Salary Information $42,000
  • 48,000 Annually Hours per week 40 Review Date June 15, 2026 Additional Information The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
