$21.00/hour Job Summary/Basic Functions Gari Melchers Home and Studio is seeking an energetic, organized, and creative individual to join our team as the part-time Events Assistant. This position provides support to the Events Manager in all aspects of events, both internal and external, such as weddings, corporate retreats, galas, and auctions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to responding to inquiries, administrative tasks, event logistics, marketing, coordination, set-up/break down and event oversight. The ideal candidate is extremely reliable and detail-oriented with sound judgment and willing to "roll up the sleeves" to do what is needed in situations while also maintaining a "big picture" strategic view and a positive attitude. This individual must enjoy working with people; have a customer-oriented focus; and be able to take direction and constructive criticism well. Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications Attention to detail Highly organized Excellent verbal and written communication skills Willingness to take charge and offer opinions and suggestions Creative People person Extremely reliable and punctual Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks at once Must be able to work long shifts, early mornings, and late nights Willingness to be flexible with work hours Basic computer skills in MS Suite of Tools in Windows Operating System (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) Basic knowledge of of hospitality, including event and catering industry Capable and comfortable with setting up events - moving tables, chairs, and equipment - up to 50 pounds
Required Experience:
Experience working in hospitality industry such as events, restaurants, catering companies, hotels, and one-on-one individuals planning of event
Additional Considerations:
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Canva, Hootsuite, Social Tables, Allseated, Perfect Table, WeddingWire, Eventective Experience with photography, videography, editing, and production Experience with event management software Event sales experience Experience with marketing and content creation, including brochure/invitation/flyer development Experience with website maintenance Experience with booking, coordinating, and planning events at a venue Knowledge in marketing, promotion, and the design of marketing materials Completion of a college degree from an accredited college/university Special Instructions You will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
