Job Description

The Summer-Temp position will provide a variety of services and support to our department on a short-term basis. Your responsibilities will vary based on the area and support needed, including planning events and programming, event communications and promotions, administrative tasks, and facility and operational improvement projects. Your role will be instrumental in driving the growth and success of our department programming for the upcoming academic year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support for all department events including research, planning, and logistics Contribute new, creative, and innovative ideas formulate ideas and designs for event and social media promotions Coordinate internal and external collaborations and manage communications with other departments and external vendors Oversee office operations and front desk Assist with operational and facility improvement projects Inventory of department-owned assets Provide summary and evaluation reports for events and programming Represent the department at University events Administration assistance and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications:
Required to work up to 40 hours a week Flexible schedule; some weekends and evenings required Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong computer, administrative, and organizational skills Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive student information Driver's License to be an LU-approved driver
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Communication and Comprehension Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to convey clear well-articulated information. Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally. Problem-Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Physical and Sensory Abilities Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations. Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard. Regularly required to hear and speak to communicate orally effectively. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop to conduct business. Regularly lift 30 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well-lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Driving Requirements Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
