Salad/To-Go Station Specialist Part-Time Pasta Grill Van Buren Van Buren, AR Job Details Part-time | Full-time From $11 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Food production Food handling Pre-cooking preparation Cooking High school diploma or GED Organizational skills Restaurant experience Full Job Description Our busy Italian/Steaks/Seafood restaurant in Historic Van Buren is looking for a professional Line/Prep Cook who can help prepare menu items as per our standard recipes. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating salad dishes and ingredients, adding the finishing touches to desserts, bagging to-go orders, pouring alcoholic beverages, if of age and keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking an individual who is committed to impeccable food presentation and customer satisfaction.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu using our proven recipes Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant Maintain the kitchen by sanitizing prep areas before and after use and making sure that all knives and critical equipment are clean Monitor ingredients, restock and report low levels of inventory to the Chef. Work with wait staff to ensure that each order leaves the kitchen correct and up to standards. Help prepare large orders for caterings and ensure that any special requests for events are taken care of High school diploma/GED preferred Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day High level of professionalism Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment Excellent verbal communication and organization skills Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis
