BOH Crew Member Job Responsibility The BOH Crew Member supports daily Back of House operations by preparing food products, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. This position is responsible for handling ingredients, preparing menu items, maintaining kitchen organization, and supporting overall restaurant operations. The BOH Crew Member performs assigned duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and training while contributing to product quality, operational efficiency, and a productive work environment. The key responsibilities are listed below; however, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Ø Prepare, portion, and handle seafood, rice, vegetables, and other ingredients in accordance with company standards Ø Follow established BOH operational procedures, including food preparation, portioning, storage, and kitchen organization Ø Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and properly while ensuring product consistency and quality Ø Maintain food safety, sanitation, inventory rotation, and quality control standards in accordance with company guidelines and FIFO principles Ø Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, workstations, and storage areas Ø Support daily kitchen operations by completing assigned tasks efficiently and accurately Ø Maintain professional and effective communication with team members and management Ø Contribute to an efficient, organized, and productive work environment Ø Embody company policies, procedures, and operational standards Ø Additional job duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed Skills and Qualifications The BOH Trainer candidate should have the following skills and qualifications to fulfill the role: Ø Previous restaurant, food preparation, or seafood handling experience preferred Ø Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality control practices Ø Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and operational standards Ø Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Ø Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and properly Ø Strong teamwork and communication skills Ø Ability to adapt to changing operational needs Ø Demonstrated professionalism and reliability Experience Requirements The BOH Crew Member typically needs 1-2 years of experience in the restaurant environment. This helps them understand how restaurants work and feel prepared for the unique challenges they may face. Experience with fish preparation, portioning, filleting, or sushi-related operations is a plus. Education and Training Requirements There are no minimum educational requirements for the BOH Crew Member position. Certifications such as Food Handler or other relevant certifications are preferred. Culinary arts education or related experience is considered a plus, as it may provide a deeper understanding of kitchen operations.
