We are a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant that specializes in using authentic Japanese ingredients and cooking methods. The ideal candidate will be able to prepare high-quality food and follow recipes accurately while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. Experience or equivalent knowledge with Japanese cuisine is a must. Key Responsibilities Prepare orders in a fast paced environment while maintaining the highest quality with consistency.
Prep stations with necessary ingredients:
chop vegetables, process meat using a meat slicer, defat poultry and fillet fish.Storage and organization:
maintain a well organized kitchen at all times, ensure everything is properly labeled with time, date and initials, and assist with putting away deliveries with urgency. Ensure all opening and closing procedures are followed with accuracy and consistency every shift. Preparing during your shift to ensure a timely close or open is possible. Assist other team members in the kitchen where you are most needed to ensure orders are being completed in a timely manner. Once acclimated to the role, assist future team members in their success with the restaurant. Requirements Knife Skills - This position requires adequate knife skills for chopping, slicing and processing ingredients. Experience using and cleaning a meat slicer. Food Handler Card - Following all health and safety guidelines is a non-negotiable requirement for this role. 1 Year experience working with Japanese Cuisine or the ability to demonstrate your knowledge of common dishes during the interview process. Additional Information This position requires an open availability including weekends and holidays. Weekends and holidays are required. Pay ranges from $20 to $23 per hour based on experience and any additional skill sets you may bring.
