Education-Outreach Team Member

Part Time Long Beach, California Posted 1 day ago Website Musical Theatre West Sharing our passion for Musicals since 1952 Working with the Education-Outreach Department at Musical Theatre West, the MTW Education-Outreach Team Member will help manage our youth and adult programs. This position provides a wonderful opportunity to learn the essential elements of running a highly successful arts education program at a professional musical theatre company. Team members are integral in setting up and running weekly classes for adults and students in grades 1-12, attending team meetings, providing support for all-company events, and assisting with special projects as needed. Typical program works will include but are not limited to: Weekly Classes

• Must be available on select weekends and weeknights
• Assist with set up, check in/out, & closing of campus
• Learn and use online ticketing system for classes
• Tenure cash and manage transactions for walk-in payments
• Capture content for socials and Ed-specific media
• Maintain professional courtesy and communication with patrons of all ages, including via written emails and other virtual communications Summer Camp
• Assist with daily check in/out during camp
• May work as a teaching assistant to instructors during camp
• Help to design programs, informational sheets, and other materials necessary for camp to be passed out to families In-Office Work
• Comfort writing professional emails and navigating phone conversations with community partners, families, and teaching artists
• Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets, Word/Google Docs, and Canva preferred

Other Roles and Responsibilities:

Team members should be self-motivated, possess good organizational and interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Team member should be able to work collaboratively and as part of a fast paced, high performing team. Team member should have an interest in arts/education. Relevant live theatrical production experience and knowledge of musical theatre a plus. Experience working with children preferred.
