- Asian Food Industry Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team in the Asian Food Industry.
This role involves engaging with customers, promoting our products, and providing exceptional service in a retail environment specializing in Asian food products. Bilingual skills and prior experience in retail sales or grocery stores are highly valued to ensure effective communication and product promotion. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about Asian cuisine, possess strong merchandising skills, and have a passion for delivering excellent customer service. The sales associate who will be responsible for managing and growing a geographic territory within California and the Western US. The role will require establishing, maintaining, and cultivating business/customer relationships and collaborating with technical people to develop new solutions. Shunda Star USA, Inc. is an innovative, entrepreneurial, fast growing Asian food company. Its products go into food market sectors such as daily use spices, food ingredient, restaurant wholesale, snack company, and much more. There are established accounts in the territory so management of these and a strong effort to increase the account base is required. Candidates must be able to travel for work in the US now and in the future. The position is based in Western United States. Duties Assist customers with product selection, providing knowledgeable recommendations on Asian food items Conduct product demos to showcase new or featured products, encouraging customer engagement and sales Upsell complementary items to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales volume Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely Qualifications Previous experience in retail sales, grocery store, or food industry preferred Bilingual proficiency in English and an Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean) is highly desirable Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math skills Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and customer service orientation Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations is a plus Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership roles within the team Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Enthusiasm for Asian cuisine and food products with a proactive approach to upselling and customer engagement There is a competitive salary, annual performance bonus, health insurance, laptop, cell phone, mileage, and expense account.
