The RoleThe House Assistant is a part-time, hourly role based at our Truckee, California, property. This person is an essential part of the guest experience at Guesthouse, working quietly and expertly behind the scenes to ensure the home feels effortless, cared for, and ready for whatever the day brings. You ll work closely with our Operations Manager and House Chef, supporting everything from post-meal kitchen clean-up to turn-down service, household upkeep, and light errands. The ideal candidate takes genuine pride in the details, is comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team, and thrives in a hospitality setting where no two days are alike.
What you will doSupport meal service by managing kitchen clean-up, dishwashing, and post-meal reset of dining and service areasProvide turn-down service as requested by guests, including refreshing towels, linens, and bed arrangementsPerform general household upkeep, including vacuuming, sweeping, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and comfort of the propertyManage laundry for kitchen linens and ensure clean stock is consistently available and organizedCare for indoor plants and outdoor living spaces, including clearing and covering outdoor furniture and removing snow from balconies and patios as neededAssist with light errands such as picking up locally placed chef orders, fresh flowers, and last-minute suppliesMaintain the fireplace and firewood storage, ensuring both are clean, stocked, and ready to set the mood for guestsCommunicate proactively with the Operations Manager regarding supply needs, property conditions, or guest-related observationsLend a hand wherever needed to ensure every guest's stay runs seamlessly from start to finishWhat we need from youPrior experience in housekeeping, hospitality, estate management, or a similar support role preferredStrong attention to detail and a high standard for cleanliness and presentationAbility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, particularly during peak guest seasonsComfortable working independently and managing time effectively with minimal supervisionWarm, professional demeanor with a guest-first mindsetValid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred; ability to run local errands a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout a shiftAbility to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (linens, supply boxes, outdoor furniture covers, etc.)Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including snow removal in the winter monthsWhat you will get from usCompetitive salary: $20/hour - $24/hour and opportunity for equity in a rapidly growing hospitality startup through shared options•Opportunity to work in a cross-cutting role, interacting with lots of different parts of the businessGrowth opportunities that come from working at an innovative and growing hospitality businessOpportunity to work in amazing locations around the world as we growRobust benefit offeringWe are an equal-opportunity employer.
