Tops Marketplace is seeking part-time (18 - 30 hours per week) Deli Clerks. Shifts include mornings (7:00 AM-3:00 PM) and evenings (3:00 PM-9:00 PM) , including rotating weekends or working every Saturday or every Sunday. Must be available on weekends to work a shift Starting pay is $17.00 per hour , with the potential to increase to $18.00+ per hour once fully trained and able to work independently. No experience required — paid training provided. Applicants MUST be 18 years of age or older. Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service by proactively assisting customers at the deli counter Slice, weigh, and package a variety of deli items including cold cuts, cheeses, and salads Answer customer questions about products and services, including catering questions Maintain proper product levels at all times Ensure proper date rotation of products Work with team members to maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the department Ensure deli items are well-merchandised and properly labeled to showcase quality and freshness Assist with unloading and breaking down deliveries as needed Wash dishes and maintain sanitation standards Properly handle food products and deli equipment Maintain all cleaning and safety standards within the deli department Perform other duties as assigned by management Education / Experience High school diploma or GED required Must be 18 years of age or older Strong work ethic and commitment to providing excellent customer service Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move objects weighing 30 pounds or more This is primarily a standing and walking position , requiring employees to stand for extended periods Frequent exposure to cool and cold temperatures Benefits Weekly paychecks Paid rest and meal breaks Free deli sandwich or small salad during meal breaks Paid sick leave Flexible scheduling Important Disclaimer The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be required.
