Crew Lead Tree Climber

About Us- Trifecta Outdoor Services is a growing tree service company proudly serving Jacksonville and surrounding areas. We specialize in professional tree removal, trimming, crane-assisted tree work, stump grinding, debris hauling, and related outdoor services. We are looking for an experienced Tree Climber / Crew Lead to join our team and help lead daily tree service operations in the field.

Position Overview:

The Tree Climber / Crew Lead will be responsible for safely climbing, rigging, cutting, trimming, and removing trees while also helping manage crew members on job sites. This person must be experienced, dependable, safety-focused, and capable of keeping jobs moving efficiently while maintaining high-quality work. The ideal candidate is someone who can lead by example, communicate clearly with the crew and management, and take pride in doing the job right.

Responsibilities:

• Climb, trim, prune, and remove trees using proper climbing and rigging techniques
• Operate chainsaws, pole saws, ropes, rigging gear, and other tree care equipment safely
• Lead and direct crew members on job sites
• Help plan the safest and most efficient way to complete each job
• Perform tree removals, trimming, crane-assisted removals, and storm cleanup as needed
• Inspect trees, limbs, hazards, drop zones, and work areas before beginning work
• Maintain a safe job site for crew members, customers, pedestrians, and property
• Communicate with the owner, office, customers, and crew as needed
• Ensure tools, ropes, saws, and equipment are properly used and cared for
• Help load, haul, chip, and clean up debris when needed
• Keep the crew productive, organized, and professional throughout the day
• Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices

Requirements:

• Previous tree climbing experience required
• Experience leading a tree crew preferred
• Strong knowledge of rigging, cutting techniques, and safe tree removal practices
• Ability to safely operate chainsaws and tree care equipment
• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Crane-assisted tree removal experience is a plus
• MUST be reliable, punctual, and able to work full days
• Must be able to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work
• Must have a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and professionalism
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and customers Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with removals, technical rigging, large trees, and hazardous tree work
• Experience working around homes, fences, pools, power lines, and tight access areas
• Bucket truck, skid steer, stump grinder, or chipper experience is a plus

Schedule:

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed
• Start time may vary depending on job schedule

Pay:

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
