Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and energetic Deli Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will prepare high-quality sandwiches and other deli items, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, efficient, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to recipes and customer preferences Ensure food quality, freshness, and proper portion control Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers and handling special requests Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health and safety regulations Restock ingredients, rotate products (FIFO), and monitor inventory levels Operate cash register and handle transactions Follow all food safety guidelines and company policies Assist with opening and closing duties as needed Qualifications Must be 16 years of age Previous food service or deli experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate) Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to operate all equipment safely Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Food Service Handling certificate not required but referred. Skills & Competencies Attention to detail Time management and multitasking Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Work Environment Fast-paced deli or food service environment Requires weekend, evening, and holiday availability Frequent standing, bending, and light lifting
