Full Time Cook / Sandwich Maker The Green Bean New Bedford, MA Job Details Full-time From $17 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Pre-cooking preparation Cutting Vegan cuisine Attention to detail Kitchen stations Full Job Description We are looking to hire a Cook/Sandwich Maker for a breakfast and lunch kitchen. This role focuses on made-to-order sandwich production, including but not limited to cooking eggs in pans, assembling sandwiches, and completing daily prep to keep service running smoothly. You'll be working on a simple but fast-paced line where consistency, cleanliness, and timing matter. This is a hands-on kitchen position for someone who already understands the kitchen flow and wants reliable hours with a consistent weekly schedule. We are looking for a dependable cook for a full time position that is available 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking:
Cook eggs to order in a pan Toast and prepare a variety of breads and bagels Assemble breakfast and lunch sandwiches with both meat and vegan/vegetarian options Maintain consistency and quality in sandwich building and presentation Prep ingredients daily (cutting vegetables, portioning meats, etc.) Make in-house items such as chicken salad, veggie burgers, and dressings Work efficiently during rush periods while maintaining attention to detail Keep the prep and cook station organized, clean, and stocked Communicating clearly with team mates
General Responsibilities:
Turn on equipment and set up work stations Review prep list and prioritize morning tasks Ensure cleanliness and food safety compliance from the start of the day Breaking down and cleaning all kitchen stations Take out trash and cleaning the floor Wash dishes and kitchen tools regularly throughout the shift Keep kitchen floors and counters clean and sanitized Assist with inventory and supply checks as needed
Requirements:
Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred Strong sandwich-building skills Ability to work efficiently and cleanly under pressure
