Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, and hot or cold items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS efficiently to process transactions accurately and swiftly. Greet customers warmly, assist with product selections, upsell items, and answer questions about deli offerings to enhance sales. Handle cash register operations including cash handling, credit card processing, and balancing registers at shift end. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area by adhering to food safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation standards. Restock shelves, organize displays, and manage inventory levels to ensure fresh products are always available. Support food preparation tasks like slicing meats or cheeses using proper equipment while following safety guidelines. Qualifications Previous experience in food service, retail grocery store, café, or quick service & fast food restaurant environments is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. Culinary experience or kitchen background is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning about food preparation is essential.
