Mornings, 6am to 2pm

Pay:

Hourly Rate or Salary, depending on experience. Hourly rate can exceed $19/hour if experience meets our needs.

Job Preferences:

• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• Two years food service experience preferred.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving, and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with a drive to work in a hands-on environment.

What You'll Do:

As the Martha's Vineyard Deli Opener, your work will help set the tone for the day. We are looking for a team member that values treating those around us with absolute respect, from those that we work with, to our customers. We are searching for a team member that can manage opening procedures, set the case, and check in deliveries. This team member will also assist with daily production of sandwiches, cutting fruit, deli trays etc. This team member needs to be able to work under time constraints and work well in a team environment.

Deli Opener Responsibilities:

This role is responsible to open the deli and set the workday in motion.

• Accept Deliveries
• Organize Cooler
• Set Deli Case
• Take Product Inventory/Set Production Lists
• Process Produce and Put Away Orders
• Assist customers with product selection, slicing meats and cheeses, and answering questions about our wide variety of deli items.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other deli offerings while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
• Keeping the deli counter and prep areas clean and organized throughout your shift.
• Restocking deli items and keeping product displays fresh, appealing, and fully stocked.
• Collaborating with your teammates to ensure smooth and efficient deli operations.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to stocking and organizing in a cooler, and exposure to outside weather conditions.

The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium. This job requires consistent interaction with customers in a service setting.
