Stream Corps Crew Member

Duluth Stream Corps Program Participant Full-time position: 30-35 hrs/week This is a temporary position which will run from January 2026 - December 2026. The goal of this program is to seek out individuals who have experienced barriers to employment, and to offer on-the-job training as well as credentials so that they may be able to successfully achieve gainful employment in the natural resource management field. Program Information Stream Corps is one of multiple workforce training programs offered by Community Action Duluth (CAD). It is an approximately 11-month paid training program, during which participants will learn entry-level natural resource management skills, working in partnership with local organizations like the City of Duluth to perform invasive species mitigation, forest restoration, and other tasks. Participants will also complete credentialed training while in the program, which will add to the participant's resume and make them highly competitive in this growing field. Participants will also have access to CAD's Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) wrap-around services, including but not limited to: transportation assistance, financial coaching, GED/Adult Diploma assistance, benefits access, and assistance with resume building, employment services, and interview preparedness. All of CAD's services are free of charge.

Core Functions:

The core tenants of the Stream Corps Program Participant position are: 1. Physical Labor Work 7½ hour days, lifting up to 50 lbs solo, planting trees, installing tree protection, cutting vegetation with handsaws and chainsaws, dragging brush, applying herbicide, carrying supplies to and from project sites, shoveling, bending, etc. 2. Education and Training Assist in ensuring a safe and productive work environment by completing safety training, maintaining equipment, and following protocols as well as following steps to complete credentialed training. 3. Represent Stream Corps and Community Action Duluth Model the core qualities of a participant: Committed, safe, hardworking, enthusiastic and eager to learn, both in informal and formal public settings. Working Conditions:

This position is full-time, non-exempt with working hours between 8am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8am-12pm Friday. This position pays $18.00/hr and is eligible for: PTO, holiday pay. CAD has a Benefits Outreach Specialist onsite to assist uninsured participants with navigating health insurance. Position is open until filled.
