In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face that helps customers select fresh, delicious deli products while ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient environment. Your culinary skills and customer service expertise will shine as you prepare food, handle transactions, and create a welcoming shopping experience. Duties Prepare and assemble deli items with precision, including slicing meats, cheeses, and other specialty foods using appropriate equipment. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions about food options, and offering recommendations through upselling techniques. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area by regularly cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations. Restock shelves with fresh products, monitor inventory levels, and assist in ordering supplies to ensure product availability. Uphold food handling safety procedures by practicing proper sanitation, storage, and temperature controls to prevent contamination. Support team members with bussing tables or cleaning duties during busy hours to keep the area organized and inviting. Requirements Prior experience in food preparation or working in a quick service or fast-food restaurant environment is highly desirable. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions. Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a friendly attitude. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy shifts. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate measurement of ingredients. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies or moving carts safely. Previous experience in grocery stores, retail food environments, or culinary settings is preferred but not required.
