About Us Charles House is a private nonprofit based in Chapel Hill, NC, operating a longstanding Adult Day Program and two licensed Eldercare Homes. Our programs are grounded in the belief that older adults should have access to lives of purpose, connection, and dignity—no matter their cognitive challenges. About the Role We're seeking an energetic, thoughtful team member to join our Day Program team in leading social engagement and meaningful activities for older adults, many of whom are experiencing executive function loss or living with dementia. The right candidate will bring warmth, creativity, and adaptability—and will help us shape a vibrant program that values both structure and spontaneity. This position can be part-time or full-time, with opportunities for growth, including leadership and supervisory roles. A Day in the Life You might lead a group discussion over coffee, support a participant on a nature walk, guide a music session, or plan a storytelling circle. Each day is a little different—but always grounded in connection, community, and care.

You Might Have Experience In:

Recreation Therapy or Occupational Therapy Social Work Eldercare Programming Activity Direction Autism services or behavioral support work Or another people-focused field—you tell us what you bring!

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Is an engaging communicator (in groups and one-on-one) Has experience with people living with dementia Enjoys creative facilitation and leading small group activities Is comfortable with light personal care Works well both independently and as part of a team Is adaptable, curious, and ready to learn
