Deli Partner

Duties Prepare and assemble deli items according to established recipes and safety standards, including slicing meats, cheeses, and preparing salads. Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with selections, answering questions about products, and offering recommendations through upselling techniques. Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS to process transactions accurately and efficiently while handling cash and credit payments. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and safety regulations. Restock shelves and display cases regularly to ensure fresh products are available and visually appealing. Support food safety standards by adhering to proper food storage, labeling, and rotation practices. Assist with other store duties such as bussing tables or cleaning workstations to keep the environment inviting for both customers and staff. Requirements Previous experience in food service, retail grocery stores, or quick service restaurants is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is key! Knowledge of food preparation techniques including slicing, portioning, and basic cooking skills. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for cash handling and transaction processing. Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and good communication abilities. Ability to manage time effectively in a busy setting while multitasking between food prep and customer interactions. Understanding of food safety practices including sanitation standards and proper food handling procedures. Basic math skills for cash handling, pricing accuracy, and retail math calculations.
