Job Overview As a Deli Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality food products. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring food safety standards are met, while working in a fast-paced atmosphere. Duties Prepare and serve deli items including meats, cheeses, and sandwiches according to company standards. Packaging ready-made salads and sides. Engage with customers to provide excellent service, including upselling products and answering questions regarding menu items. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety guidelines. Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and monitoring product freshness. Taking detailed phone orders for future pickup. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours in a fast-paced environment. Perform basic math calculations for pricing, portioning, and inventory tracking. Requirements Previous experience in retail deli or general slicing experience is preferred. Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy setting. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons. Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations in the food industry. Experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments is beneficial. Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling and inventory purposes. Strong attention to detail regarding sanitation practices within the kitchen area.
