Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Deli Associate and become a vital part of delivering exceptional food service experiences! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing fresh deli items, assisting customers with their selections, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Whether you're slicing meats, managing POS transactions, or upselling delicious products, your positive attitude will drive success and foster community connection. Duties Prepare a variety of deli foods with precision, including slicing meats, cheeses, and assembling sandwiches or salads according to customer preferences. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and offering recommendations to enhance their experience. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning work areas, utensils, and food handling stations in compliance with food safety regulations. Manage cash handling duties with accuracy, including processing transactions, giving correct change, and balancing cash drawers at shift end. Assist with food stocking, inventory management, and restocking shelves to ensure product availability. Support other team members with food preparation tasks like bussing tables or assisting in quick service & fast food restaurant environments to keep operations smooth. Requirements Previous experience in food preparation or food service roles such as café, grocery store, or restaurant is highly preferred. Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus. Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation standards. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods. Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations confidently. Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Kitchen experience or culinary background is advantageous but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential.
