Food Service & Convenience Store Associate

Job Summary:

The Food Service and Convenience Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of both the convenience store and the integrated food service area. We are looking for a friendly, customer-focused individual who enjoys interacting with people and always has a smile on their face. This role ensures exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Associate will assist with inventory management, food preparation, and customer interactions to maintain a positive shopping and dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations Assist with daily operations of both the convenience store and food service area, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and shift coverage. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store and food service area to ensure a positive customer experience. Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves and food service supplies as needed. Food Service Preparation & Serving Prepare and serve food items according to company recipes and standards, ensuring high quality and consistency. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines for food preparation, handling, and storage. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, performing regular cleaning and maintenance. Customer Service Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their purchases, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues to the Food Service and Convenience Manager as needed. Promote a welcoming environment by engaging with customers and providing a positive shopping and dining experience. Sales & Financial Transactions Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Assist with tracking sales data and reporting any discrepancies to the Food Service and Convenience Manager. Support promotional activities and upsell products to enhance sales. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, sanitation, and security protocols. Conduct regular inspections of the store and food service area to identify and address any safety or compliance issues. Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the Food Service and Convenience Manager and other team members to achieve store and food service goals. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment. Provide feedback to the Food Service and Convenience Manager on customer trends, inventory needs, and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous experience in retail or food service preferred but not required.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills:

Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Proficiency in operating a POS system and handling cash transactions.
