Deli Clerk - Gas Station/Convenience Store

Corner Market in 6748 State Route 415, Bath, NY is looking for an experienced and energetic individual to take on the challenge of the deli clerk position for our fuel and convenience store. Corner Market provides fuel, Deli and convenience store items. A deli clerk provides customer service by preparing, slicing, weighing, and packaging meats, cheeses, and prepared foods in a retail setting. They maintain food safety standards, clean workstations, and operate equipment like slicers and scales. Key skills include food handling knowledge, strong communication, and ability to stand for long periods.

Requirements:

Food Safety and Sanitation:

Adherence to NY state health regulations, including "clean as you go" policies, temperature monitoring of cases, and proper food handling.

Customer Service:

Preparing made-to-order sandwiches, subs, and salads, and providing friendly, efficient service.

Operational Tasks:

Slicing meats/cheeses, stocking displays, cleaning equipment, and managing inventory (FIFO•First In, First Out).

Flexibility:

Shifts often require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Education•High school diploma or GED required Experience•Retail experience required, minimum of 2 years preferred
