Meat Department Clerk

You will be the primary point of contact for our customers, helping them select the perfect cuts for their family meals while being part of a growing business that is becoming a Western New York favorite. Position Summary The Meat Department Customer Service Clerk focuses primarily on the customer-facing portion of our meat department. Your main priority is to wait on customers, assist them with their specific needs, and ensure they leave with exactly what they were looking for. While you will perform standard clerk duties like stocking and cleaning, your primary "home" is behind the service counter.

Essential Functions Premier Customer Interaction:

Spend the majority of your shift at the service counter, greeting customers warmly and assisting them with their meat selections.

Order Fulfillment:

Accurately pull, wrap, weigh, and label products as requested by the customer.

Product Knowledge:

Learn about our different cuts of meat, sausage varieties, and deli offerings to provide helpful recommendations and cooking tips.

Display Maintenance:

Keep the service and display cases looking full, fresh, and "abundant" throughout the day.

Department Cleanliness:

Maintain a clean and sanitized service area, ensuring all counters, scales, and tools meet our high safety and health standards.

Stocking & Rotation:

Assist in rotating products to ensure freshness and help stock cases during downtime between serving customers.

Team Support:

Work closely with our Meat Cutters and Sausage Makers to ensure customer requests are handled promptly and professionally.

Qualifications Age:

Must be at least 18 years of age .

Experience:

Previous experience in retail, food service, or a customer-facing role is highly preferred.

Communication Skills:

Must be outgoing, friendly, and able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of customers.

Work Ethic:

Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a high level of energy during busy periods.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and work comfortably in a refrigerated environment. Attention to
