Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food service, with experience in culinary practices and a passion for delivering excellent customer experiences. Duties Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations. Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products when appropriate. Manage inventory levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure availability of popular items. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance customer satisfaction. Perform basic math calculations for accurate order processing and cash handling. Engage in food preparation tasks including slicing meats, cheeses, and other deli products as required. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen and service areas. Requirements Previous experience in the food industry or retail environment is preferred, particularly in quick service or fast food settings. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and handling techniques. Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during peak hours. Proven customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications. Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety regulations is essential. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
