Previous kitchen experience advantageous but not a necessity. Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs, be relatively unperturbed by blood and meat viscera, and have weekend availability. A person who would enjoy this job would be someone who likes cooking, eating, learning, and chatting with customers. About Our Shop:
We are a small, farm-to-table butcher and grocer seeking team-oriented individuals who are interested in whole animal butchery and local agriculture. Our pasture-raised meats, cheeses, produce, etc. come from the hard work of many hands across Ohio. Our ethos is to honor this hard work by being knowledgeable about our products and engaging directly with our customers, many of whom are familiar faces and weekly regulars. We do our best to minimize food waste by creating chef-driven, value-added products that illustrate how delicious it can be to 'use the scraps' and eat with the seasons. We are a small staff who tries to maintain an enjoyable work atmosphere through the ebbs and flows of each week. Some days are more relaxed with time to deep clean and organize; other days we are buckling down to accomplish a long list of tasks and projects.Deli Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable about different cuts of beef/pork/poultry and how to cook them (we are willing to train if you are willing to learn).
- A personable approach to assisting customers and offering recommendations.
- Observant and detail-oriented with a focus on keeping the deli case clean, stocked, and presentable.
- Package, seal, and label products for retail.
- Light kitchen prep work.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following food-safe SOP's and using proper sanitation methods.
