Seafood Team Member (Closing Clerk)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Seafood Clerk to join our team. This role is essential in providing customers with high-quality seafood products while ensuring adherence to food safety and handling standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the culinary arts and experience in the food industry, particularly in seafood preparation and presentation. Duties Assist customers with selecting seafood products, providing recommendations and cooking tips. Maintain a clean and organized seafood display, ensuring all products are fresh and properly labeled. Perform food handling tasks, including weighing, packaging, and pricing seafood items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are met. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the seafood department. Utilize knife skills for cutting and preparing various seafood items as required. Engage with customers to provide excellent service and address any inquiries or concerns. Ensuring the seafood area is properly closed down at the end of the day, including tasks like cleaning the service case, floors, dishes, restocking, and preparing for the next day's opening Requirements Previous experience in the culinary field or food industry is preferred, particularly in seafood handling or meat cutting. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Strong knife skills and experience in food production are advantageous. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor. Willingness to learn about different types of seafood and cooking methods. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
