As the sole climber on our team and the foreman of our crew, the person in this position will play a critical role in helping us bring those values to life. We are looking for someone with thorough knowledge of tree care, solid climbing experience, and the ability to communicate well and to get along with fellow employees and customers. Responsibilities Perform tree care, with emphasis on pruning with meticulous attention to detail, including ground, tree climbing, and potentially aerial lift operations Lead and supervise tree care crew during tree trimming, pruning, removal, and other arboricultural tasks Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to industry standards and company policies Wear job-appropriate PPE at all times, including helmet, harness, gloves, eye protection, and ear protection Communicate with ground crew, including giving instruction to those unfamiliar with some aspects of the work Coordinate daily job assignments, equipment needs, and project timelines to maximize productivity Operate and maintain climbing gear, chainsaws, chippers, and other specialized equipment with care Repair equipment on site or at the company shop as needed Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and management to ensure project success and customer satisfaction Qualifications 5+ years of tree climbing experience required Demonstrate proficiency in climbing Valid drivers license Ability to work in all weather conditions year round ISA certified arborist preferred PA pesticide applicator license holder preferred Ability to work 40 hours or more each week, sometimes including weekends
