Hourly Position, Non- Exempt The Chattanooga Area Food Bank, a Feeding America network member, is a nonprofit organization distributing food to over 25,000 food insecure people each week in the Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia region. This position is responsible for supporting all parts of Foxwood Food Center programs and operations. Foxwood Food Center is CAFB's largest direct distribution, serving 150+ households per day. Responsibilities include direct, ongoing interaction with CAFB staff, volunteers, and guests. Other responsibilities include stocking, sorting, reporting inventories, and maintaining safety and cleanliness at all times at the facility.

Responsibilities:

Operational Focus includes but not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Prepare Foxwood Food Center as instructed for daily operations, to include but not limited to stocking and sorting product, cleaning, and inventory.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all partners, volunteers, and guests.
• Intake and properly process guests receiving food assistance with a focus on our Spanish speaking neighbors in need.
• Aid in reporting required both internally and externally.
• Organize and maintain all records required by state and local officials. Volunteer Focus includes but not limited to the following responsibilities:
• Meet and orient volunteers to the facility, train volunteers to the different work areas as directed.
• Intake and properly process guests receiving food assistance.
• Coordinate the bakery, dairy, and produce sorting, training all volunteers in accordance with our food safety guidelines.

Shopping Area & Warehouse Storage:

• Maintain required cleaning areas per the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Sweep, mop and empty the trash cans in the main operation area daily.
• Ensure proper storage, safety and cleanliness of all products stored in the Foxwood main warehouse section.
• Attend staff meetings and outside work-related events.
• Perform other duties as required (by responsibility or necessity) or as requested by manager.

Skills/Trade/Qualifications:

Languages:

• Exceptional customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills Thorough knowledge of WMS systems and computer applications, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Proficient in using manual & electric pallet jacks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of warehouse operations, practices, procedures, and standards
• Basic knowledge of sanitary food safety, storage, and handling guidelines
• Proven track record of dependability with an impeccable attendance record
• Valid Driver's License & Clean driving record
• Food Safety Certificate within 90 days of employment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job (occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 70 lbs.

, moving pallets up to 2,000 lbs., etc.)

Warehouse/Fleet Working Conditions:

• Warehouse environment - Temperature zones in the warehouse can range from -10 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Concrete floors & in outdoor environments during deliveries for an extended period of time.
• Position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing in and out of trucks
