A Meat Market Associate assists customers, prepares and packages meat products, maintains product displays, and ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. This role supports daily operations within a meat department, butcher shop, or specialty meat market. Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service. Assist customers with meat selections, product information, and special orders. Weigh, package, label, and price meat products accurately. Stock and rotate meat products in display cases and coolers. Monitor product freshness and remove expired or damaged items. Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, equipment, and displays. Follow food safety, handling, and storage procedures. Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing inventory shipments. Operate meat department equipment safely, such as scales, slicers, and wrapping machines. Prepare value-added products such as marinated meats, specialty cuts, or meat trays when required. Support inventory counts and report low-stock items to management. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient department operations.
